Introduction

BT579 is a Bluetooth multi-channel connection product, it is usually connected to serial device by DB9 port, and then connected to one or more Bluetooth master or slave devices via Bluetooth, so as to build wireless bridges between the serial device and the Bluetooth devices. BT579 has 8 Bluetooth connection channels and can connect to 8 Bluetooth devices at the same time.

In the figure above, serial devices refer to devices that use RS232 protocol for serial communication, such as laptop or desktop computer, network equipment, medical equipment, industrial control equipment, instrument, etc.
Bluetooth BLE Master, such as Android mobile phone, Apple mobile phone, etc.
Bluetooth SPP Master, such as laptop or desktop computers, Android mobile phones, etc.
Bluetooth SPP Slave, such as IRXON BT570, BT578_V3, BT579, etc.

FAQs
• : What is Bluetooth SPP and what is Bluetooth BLE, and what is the difference?
• : Bluetooth SPP is the abbreviation of Serial Port Profile. SPP is a protocol of traditional Bluetooth, which can virtualize Bluetooth link into a serial connection.
Bluetooth BLE is the abbreviation of Bluetooth Low Energy. BLE is a relatively new Bluetooth technology that came with the release of Bluetooth 4.0.
There are several differences between the two protocol:
1. Different user interfaces: The user interface provided by SPP is a Bluetooth virtual serial COM port; the user interface provided by BLE is a Bluetooth characteristic.
2. Different communication target: SPP is usually used to connect to Windows computer (Android can also support SPP);  BLE is usually used to connect to Android or iOS devices.
3. Different applications: The application program of serial device can still be used over Bluetooth SPP connection; while the Bluetooth characteristic provided by BLE usually require new program development.

• What is the difference between BT578_V3 and the BT579?
• There are 4 main differences:
1, BT579 has 8 Bluetooth connection channels and can connect to 8 Bluetooth devices at the same time.
BT578_V3 has one Bluetooth connection channel and can connect to only one Bluetooth device at the same time.
2, BT579 can act as a slave, waiting for the search, pairing and connection of the Bluetooth master such as a mobile phone or computer, and it can also act as a master to search and connect to Bluetooth slaves such as IRXON BT570/BT578/BT579.
BT578_V3 is a Bluetooth slave device, it has to wait for the search, pairing and connection of the Bluetooth master such as a mobile phone or computer.
3, BT579 supports sending AT commands via serial link; BT578 supports sending AT commands via both serial link and Bluetooth link.
4, BT579 is complex to use and professional. BT578_V3 is easier to use, with more market demand and more sales.
