Design Highlights

• By the DB9 male connector, it can be directly connected
to the widely used female serial device, or be connected to the male serial
device by using a DB9 male to female converter provided with the adapter.
•
It can be used as a Bluetooth slave to connect with a Bluetooth master device
such as a mobile phone; it can also be set as a Bluetooth master by sending
AT command and be used to connect with a BT580 slave.
• Built-in lithium battery and charging circuit, it can be used without
external power supply. It can also be powered by Pin9 of DB9 port, just
connect pin9 to 3V~6V and pin5 to GND.
•
When a byte passing through BT580 serial port, whether it is sending or
receiving, the green LED will flash to indicate,
If there is continuous data, it will keep on.
•
When the adapter detects that the voltage of the built-in lithium battery is
too low, the blue LED will flash rapidly to remind the user to charge
battery in time.
Remote Bluetooth AT command setting

You can send AT commands via Bluetooth connection to
set the adapter on your mobile phone, comparing with the traditional setting way via RS232 connection, the remote
Bluetooth AT commands provide more convenient and simpler way to set the adapter.
The remote AT command operation is very simple. Run "ATBlue" program on a
mobile phone, tap "SCAN" button to find BT580, then tap "BT580" to connect,
enter AT command and tap "SEND", you will receive return message from the
adapter.
"AT+BT" is the testing remote AT command of BT580, if the test is OK, the adapter
will return "OK" message.
BT580 provides a wealth of AT commands. Users can change Bluetooth role,
serial baud rate, Bluetooth name, etc., and even preset the
searching and connecting manner for BT580 master by sending remote AT commands.
Auto sleep and Auto wake-up

Auto sleep function: The adapter will enter sleep
state if there isn't serial and Bluetooth data activity within 30 seconds, the power consumption
of the sleep state can be as low as 0.1mA, which can drastically improve the
battery life.
Auto wake-up function: Serial data activity or Bluetooth data activity can
wake up BT580 from sleep state and return to full-speed state immediately.
The above power consumption waveform graphs show that the BT580 still perform
Bluetooth broadcast when it is in sleep state and can be found by
Bluetooth master device. The power consumption is
almost zero during the interval of two broadcasts, while the broadcast power
consumption in full-speed state is close to 10mA.
It can also be seen from the graphs that the BT580 maintains the Bluetooth
connection when it is in sleep, during the connection interval, the power
consumption is nearly zero. The longer the connection interval, the lower
the power consumption, the slower the Bluetooth speed, the connection
interval of BT580 is very short, which can increase the data throughput of
Bluetooth communication.
