Introduction

BT578 Serial Bluetooth adapter is usually connected to a serial device by DB9 serial port, and then communicates with a mobile phone or a computer via Bluetooth SPP or BLE, and thus build a wireless link between the serial device and the computer or mobile phone. It can eliminate your conventional RS232 serial cables, connects communication both sides over the air, provides a wireless serial connection with more freedom and convenience.

Q1: What is the difference between the new BT578V2 and the old BT578?

A1: The BT578V2 is upgraded from the old product, and can replace the old BT578, but it is still somewhat different from the old one.1. On the basis of retaining the function of Bluetooth SPP, the new model adds support for the new generation Bluetooth BLE.
2. The new model no longer provides the function of using as a Bluetooth Master, and can only be used as a Bluetooth Slave. For customers who need to use Bluetooth master-slave pair, please buy IRXON BT580 serial Bluetooth adapter.
3. The stop bit of BT578V2 serial port parameter is fixed to 1 bit and cannot be changed by AT command.
4. The green LED act as serial TX/RX data indicator on BT578V2, user can observe the activity of the serial data through the indicator light.
5. The format of AT command has been adjusted, there is no need to append a return and line feed at the end of AT command in BT578V2. In addition, the AT command to modify the baud rate, the old format is "AT+UART", the format becomes "AT+BAUD" in BT578V2.
6. The communication distance of BT578V2 is several times farther than the old one.

Q2: I am trying to configure the adapter to change the BAUD rate. I downloaded your android app. I successfully connected to the BT578_BLE on the app. However, when I send a AT command there is no reply. When I look at the adapter, the power light is on, the Bluetooth light is solid once I connect to the app. When I send a AT command the Serial Data Activity LED briefly flashes and then turns off. I have tried to send the AT commands while pressing and holding the AT command button but I get no reply. Could you please advise?

A2: BT578V2 does not support AT command via Bluetooth wireless connection, you have to send AT command via RS232 physical connection. You must connect BT578V2 to a serial port of your computer to send AT command. If your PC does not have a serial port, please buy a USB-RS232 cable to add a physical COM port to your computer.
